Winter is a great time to get a facelift! Jeffrey Schreiber, MD on 04 Nov 2015

Thinking about getting a facelift, but worried about finding downtime? Winter is a great time to get a facelift because of the holidays and the ability to hang out at home because of the cold weather…and possibly snow! Dr. Schreiber performs many facelifts during this time because it is very easy to explain being home for 5-7 days while recovering from a facelift. The downtime is good for healing and to allow the bruising and swelling to go away. However, when Dr. Schreiber does a facelift he allows his patients to shower and wash their hair and face days after surgery!

As a Baltimore facelift specialist, Dr. Schreiber specializes in avoiding the “pulled too tight” look while giving his patients a more refreshed, younger appearing face. He includes a necklift with his facelifts so the entire face below the eyes is fully rejuvenated. If the eyelids also have excess skin and bags, Dr. Schreiber can perform an eyelid lift at the same time. Browlifts and fat grafting are other amazing procedures that can add even more to full face rejuvenation.

Dr. Schreiber performs his facelifts in the comfort and safety of a hospital. With a board certified anesthesiologist and a team of cosmetic surgery nurses and staff, Dr. Schreiber believes in “safety first” when it comes to facelifts. The procedure can last from 4-7 hours depending upon the amount of work that needs to be done to achieve the patient’s aesthetic goals.

Discomfort is minimized to almost nothing by Dr. Schreiber with the use of local anesthetics during the procedure and oral pain medications afterward. In fact, the majority of Dr. Schreiber’s facelift patients only take ibuprofen or Tylenol after surgery. Exercise can resume at 1-2 weeks with intense weightlifting at 6 weeks. Make-up can be applied as early as 5-7 days in most cases.

When it comes to facelift, women are not the only ones who get them. As the recent author of a blog on the “Daddy Do-over”, Dr. Schreiber has performed many facelifts on men, too! These days, men find themselves competing with the younger generations in the workplace. They are also seeking to find a younger partner and facelift can help out in these cases.

With the winter coming, it’s time to schedule your consultation with Dr. Schreiber to see if now is the time to get a facelift! Call (410) 902-9800 or fill out the Appointment Request link on the side of this page.
